Work instructions for refuelling LNG trucks
- The vehicle is parked parallel to the LNG filling station. The LNG filling hose of the fuel dispenser must be in line with the filler neck of the vehicle. Switch off the engine, apply the parking brake.
- Personal protective must be put on.
- The earthing cable of the LNG filling station should be clamped to the vehicle.
- Only if there is a vehicle tank pressure above 10 bar: gas recirculation.
- If you have a personal fuel card, the LNG dispenser will be released when you
register at the terminal.Note: The personal fuel card is only to be issued to trained personnel.
- The filler neck on the vehicle tank must be cleaned with compressed air.
- The LNG fuel nozzle must be taken out of the holder and cleaned with compressed air.
- The fuel nozzle must be connected to the vehicle tank.
Note: When the LNG fuel nozzle is removed from the holder and approval is given at the terminal, the system will be automatically cooled down. This is indicated by the orange light labelled "Vorbereitung" ("Preparation").
- When the green light is on, the driver can press the start button and refuelling will
begin.
Note: The start button is a dead man's switch that must be held down during the entire refuelling process.
- After the automatic shutdown, the LNG fuel nozzle should be removed from the
vehicle tank. To do this, pull back the levers evenly and quickly. In the event of a leak,
the fuel nozzle must be reconnected. After heating with compressed air, the fuel
nozzle can be disconnected again.
Note: Reasons for stopping refuelling include, e.g., high counterpressure (perform gas recirculation) or low flow rate (tank full).
- The filler neck on the vehicle tank and the fuel nozzle must be cleaned with compressed air. The fuel nozzle should then be put back into the holder.
- The earthing should be removed.
VOLVO
(gas recirculation in the LNG filling hose):
- Steps 6 to 7 must be carried out in the same way as for connecting the LNG filling hose.
- The gas recirculation valve on the tank must be opened.
- Pressure reduction will start
automatically.Note: The pressure reduction will be carried out gradually. The process endsautomatically.
- Continue with steps 5 and 9.
6, 7 and 8 are done
Scania und Iveco
(gas recirculation in a separate hose)
- The gas return connections on the dispenser hose and on the vehicle tank must be cleaned with compressed air.
- The gas return is connected to the tank.
- The gas recirculation valve on the tank must be opened.
- Pressure reduction will start automatically.
- The gas recirculation valve is closed, the gas recirculation removed, and the connections cleaned with compressed air.
